    DESCRIPTION

This tour has been our longest running and most favored tour amoung Big Island visitors. This tour connects visitors to some of the Big Islands most popular attractions. We begin with a trip to Richardsons Black Sand Beach. In addition to enjoying the crystal clear waters and vibrant coral reefs, Richardsons is home to numerous groups of native sea turtles. View, or take a swim in these tranquil waters and be immersed in the ease of Island living.

We continue our fun filled tour with a trip to Liliuokalani Gardens. Named in the honor of Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarch, this 24 acre park was built in a traditional Japanese (Edo Period) setting. Take a relaxing stroll through these beautiful gardens surrounded by the gorgeous views of Hilo Bay.

No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a trip to Big Island Candies to fulfill your every confectionary delight. Big Island Candies was started in 1977 and has maintained its world famous tradition of "Omiyage": Gift giving with a sense of place, purpose, and gratitude. Here you will find the very best in Island style confectionary treats, made right before your eyes, and packaged to perfection.

Next, enjoy a 3 mile drive through macadamia nut orchards. At the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Visitor center view the nut & chocolate processing plant where macadamia nuts are husked, and carefully dried. You will be able to view the delicious array of macadamia nut products that are packaged at the plant. Delight in chocolate demonstrations where Mauna Loa experts hand-dip tasty macadamia nut shortbread cookies into pure rich milk chocolate!

After a short drive we arrive at Rainbow Falls. A waterfall named for its frequent rainbow formations visible in the cascading waters of the falls. This 80ft waterfall is surrounded by beauitful jungle and vegitation which can be accessed easily on foot. If this is your first time to Hawaii this is a must-see location.

After our delightful visit to the falls our trip takes us east toward Kalapana's active lava fields. There you will get to experience the Big Island's active lava flow from a safe but visible distance.

As we near the end of our tour we bring you to the fascinatingly ominous Kaumana Caves lava tubes and 1984 Saddle Road Lava Flow. Kaumana Caves was once an active lava tube. It is said that Kaumana Caves goes for miles with numerous underground connections. Because of its mystery many local legends speak of these caves as a resting place for spirits that have yet to pass on.
